A Weekly Review of the World of Typography

Releases:

Say hi to Santa Ana Sans, the latest type design from design studio Hoodzpah. Santa Ana Sans is a "semi-condensed pseudo-geometric sans" that actually has more ties to condensed sign painter types than anything else. No matter how you slice it, its got a lot of personality packed into 6 weights of roman and italics.

Arp from W Type Foundry is a neo-grotesk type system exploring the relations between contrast, functionality, and graphic character in one family. This typography comes in 5 different weights including fine strokes with inverted contrast, a sharp sans serif, and a high contrast heavyweight.

Okaso from 29Letters is a geometric sans family of Latin and Arabic fonts designed with “solid forms and dynamic contours [that] work in harmony to create a lively yet purposed corporate oddity.” Okaso is also designed as a companion to 29LT’s Oskura Family, also published this year.

Hannes Famira of Famira Fonts has released Interpol Sans, a low-contrast sans family designed for legibility in low resolution situations. Interpol Sans is an extension of the Interpol Collection from Famira Fonts, available at TypeNetwork.

Briefcase Type released BC Eric Machat, a Gill Sans inspired collection of three stylistic families — a classically proportioned regular, a narrow display, and a vintage feeling script family of three weights.
