A Weekly Review of the World of Typography

Releases:

Positype released Organic Pro this week, billed as a sans serif design that delivers a "highly legible and friendly sans serif while exploring what further infusing warmth in a highly structured sans serif" can do.  Organic Pro deploys its amiable and plump letterforms in a tidy family of 16 fonts —8 weights of roman and italics.

Avantt is the latest to come out fo Displaay Foundry's studio, packing modernist idealism and a deep bench Bauhaus inspirations into a family of 16 fonts across 8 weights.  Avantt was originally designed for a reconstructed office building in Prague, and developed further for retail release combining additional inspirations from architectural principles, historical sources, and the works of Ladislav Sutnar,  and Adolf Loos. Say hello to Rustica, and its 18 fonts of GeoHumanist glyphs. TipoType describes Rustica as "a humanist architecture with the addition of the determination and precision of the geometry of the classic sans of the early 20th century."  It's clean, its got a huge x-height, and comes complete with language support and display ready style.

NT Bau Mono is a monospaced extension to Nodo Type FOundry's neutral Bau family. In the words of the foundry: "NT Bau Mono comes in five different weights (Light, Regular, Medium, Bold and Black) and while it keeps formal concepts neutral, the charm of its monospaced condition comes handy to create new visual narratives."
