NOTES:
Lexik is a fantastic study in the construction of letters. Although not a type family for the trendy designers out there, its not lacking in special moments of flash and prestige. Its stark, angular serifs and terminals get more pronounced with added weight, its square tittles and ‘ball’ terminals are a sturdy feature, and the medium x-height gives the family a tough and ready posture that feels ready for some lengthy text settings, or some intense letterpress impressions in paper.
Lexik reminds me of the faces that were being produced in the late 90’s and early 2000’s when digital faces were really taking off and type designers were feeling bold and confident in chopping and shaving away parts of letterforms. There’s an honesty about it; a brutal honesty, but maybe the world could use a little more of that.
