From the Foundry:
“Selva juxtaposes delicate detailing, with angular moments within a singular Scotch typeface that comprises of Roman (with corresponding Italic) and Script cuts. Selva Script brings classical calligraphic detailing through connections, letter structures and rhythm, where as the Italic variant is a dynamic version of traditional Scotch typefaces.
These two variants of the typeface, make great companions to the Roman family, whose structure is slightly condensed to follow its slanted styles. The calligraphic influence, notably apparent in the pinched curves and the tall capitals, ascenders and descenders, is counterbalanced by a modern aesthetic with its sharp breaks, its drops cut at right angles and its systematic look. This type family is inspired by details of various typefaces and styles and renders it into a cohesive type family that aims to encapsulate the spirit of Scotch typefaces.
Selva is available in 5 weights — Light, Regular, Medium, Bold and Black — over two families — Roman and Script. The Roman variant includes corresponding Italics. Selva is open to licensing in both Standard (‘STD’) and Professional (‘PRO’) versions. The latter contains a multitude of OpenType features, old style numerals, various stylistic alternates and swashes.”
