Releases:

Inklination from Emtype is a collection of sans-serif and monospaced fonts in the ‘International Style’ that includes two different italic styles of varying slants.

Sigurd is a stylish display serif type family from Blaze Type of 8 weights constructed with a wink to calligraphy and an eye for digital display uses.
☞
Rector is Production Type’s latest release. As an angular display semi-serif with italics, Rector’s blade-like letter construction and expressive range from elegant to aggressive are poised to become one of the year’s most versatile font offerings so far.

Future Fonts put forward their first release of the year with Mirta, a modern "rotating-brush" inscription serif designed by Michelangelo Nigra.

Orbikular, released by CoType Foundry this week, is described as “residing in the space between a Transitional and a Scotch Roman” I’d say it adds its own level modernity to that equation with sharp cut serifs and emphatic ball terminals.

Balarius is a new three-axis variable family from TypeTogether that ’shifts from sans to slab’. Discover the charming construction of this multi weight and multi-width collection of fonts here.

Fun Tools: ABC Dinamo debuted their latest fun project — Name Crawler — A word discovery tool, which could come in handy when looking for a typeface name, not to mention how helpful it could be in Scrabble.) Read more about it here.
Specimens: CoType’s release of Orbikular comes with a specimen designed by Pentagram’s editorial design wizard Matt Willey, which is just spectacular.
Custom Type: This “Geometric Fraktura” by Sascha Bente for Identitätsstiftung is friendly, innovative, and is dripping in the Renner spirit. Pretty fun project.
